PHCS Homeschool Puma Den Program

Are you looking for a Christian K-8 Homeschooling program in western Sonoma County? Do you want the flexibility of choosing your own curriculum and schooling location, but having the community of a small local school and experience of a seasoned teacher?
Our new program for Christian Homeschool families is being launched to give more educational flexibility in these changing times.

Foundation Program (K-8th grade)
(This is what is included in your annual fee, and you have the option to add on other elements)

COMMUNITY
  • Weekly one-hour meeting with Coordinator
  • Students/parents invited to fieldtrips & PHCS events
  • Students invited to participate on-campus: 
    •  Wonderful Wednesday: 11:30 Outdoor Chapel; 12:00 Lunch/Recess until 12:45; Art enrichment class until 1:30*
    •  Fun Friday: Arrive at 10:00 for Buddy Activity; 11:15 Brunch and PE class until 12:30
    •  Afternoon Enrichment Classes* (Music, Tech, Spanish etc. M–F) 
       *Offered  as space is available
ADMINISTRATION
  • Legal covering with PHCS Affidavit
  • Recordkeeping (required subjects, attendance, cum files)
  • Accountability and assessment support 
    (Individual Coordinator/parent weekly meeting)
  • Curriculum suggestions/advice (as requested)

FEES
  1. Annual Enrollment Fee: $150 per family (Paid before school year)
  2. Foundation Program Annual Tuition: $1, 740 per child (2021-22)
  1. Single or trimester payments (Discount for multiple children)

Add-Ons
​(Costs vary and are not included in Foundation Program fee)
  • Extra Curricular / After school activities (On-or-off-campus): Chess Club, Piano Lessons, Karate etc 
  • Tutoring: Individual subject tutoring, or extra consulting with Coordinator

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interview with PHCS Principal and Coordinator
  • Register with HSLDA
  • Meet weekly with Coordinator
  • Keep “Curriculum Tracker” up to date with 
  • Yearly Plan & Attendance

COORDINATOR PROVIDES:
  • Weekly meeting with parents  
  • Curriculum suggestions
  • Support for family by discussing objectives, learning styles, resources, special needs, legal requirements etc.

  • Sonoma State University and Fresno Pacific College graduate classes​

Mary Jo taught all grades K-8 at PHCS until retiring from full time teaching after 38 years. In 2020 she was named “Teacher of the Year” by the Sebastopol Rotary Club. She especially loves working with the middle school grades and uses her energy and talents to enrich the learning experience of all her students.
